Peter Laverman started as a research technician at the department of Nuclear Medicine in 1996 and simultaneously worked on his PhD project on Tc-99m labeling of PEG-liposomes for infection imaging. After obtaining his PhD degree in November 2000 he worked for one year as post-doc in radiochemistry at the PET department of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, USA. After returning to Nijmegen in 2002 he continued to work as a post-doc on various projects related to imaging with peptide and antibodies. In 2010 he was appointed assistant professor and in 2014 he became head of the Radiopharmacy unit and research labs at the department of Nuclear Medicine. He is a certified Clinical Radiochemist and together with the colleagues in the radiopharmacy (hotlab) he is responsible for the clinical translation and implementation of new radiotracers. He is scientific respresentative of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) Radiopharmacy committee and board member of the European Symposium on Radiopharmacy and Radiopharmceuticals (ESRR).
