Marti Boss studied Molecular and Cellular Lifesciences at Utrecht University. In 2014 she started her PhD project at the Department of Medical Imaging at the Radboudumc in which her main focus was on imaging of the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor with radiolabeled and fluorescently labeled exendin. With this technique she has performed translational projects on optimization of the diagnosis and treatment of hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia. Her current work as a postdoc focuses on imaging in diabetes. In both national and international collaborative studies she uses imaging techniques to learn more about the pathophysiology of diabetes and related disorders such as cardiovascular disease, to optimize existing treatment methods and aid in the development of novel treatment strategies for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
