Diana Wicks (Melis) studied Chemistry at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. In 2019, she graduated with a master’s degree in chemistry where she worked on the development of metal-based complexes to treat malaria. She then moved to the other side of the world to pursue a PhD in molecular and radiochemistry at Chimie ParisTech, PSL Université (Paris, France) and at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre, SCK CEN (Mol, Belgium). Her PhD project focused on the development of Re-188 radiopharmaceuticals, from the construction of a generator and synthesis of chelators to radiolabelling and preclinical studies. She obtained her PhD in December 2024 and began working as a radiochemistry postdoc at Radboudumc in April 2025 within the UNRANU project. She will focus on the development of Ho-166 microspheres and investigate radiolabelling strategies with various radionuclides.
